Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today directed officers to ensure the availability of labourers to avoid inconvenience to horticulturists during the apple season.
Promote wellness tourism
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said in Mandi the government was planning to promote wellness tourism in the state following suggestions of hoteliers as well as others associated with the tourism industry.
He said he was concerned about the revival of the tourism industry, which had been on the edge since the Covid outbreak. Several people had lost livelihood and now it would take time for the industry to recover.
AdvertisementHe said the government had waived demand charges on electricity bills of hoteliers for six months. The hoteliers were demanding electricity and water bills on domestic charges and the government would also think over the issue.
He addressed DCs, SPs and Chief Medical Officers through video-conferencing from here.
He also asked them to ensure proper testing of labourers coming from other states and they should be quarantined. Steps should be taken to provide manpower in mango-growing areas.
The CM said SOPs regarding the entry and screening of persons visiting the state should be strictly adhered to and special care should be taken to test the persons arriving from the hotspots.
Thakur said people should also be sensitised to avoid unnecessary visit to public places and maintain social distancing at work places as well.
Thakur said the home quarantine facility must be made more effective.
