Ensure power connections to Anganwadi centres: DC
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal on Monday directed Child Development Project Officers to ensure electricity supply in all Anganwadi centres in the district that currently lack the facility, within a stipulated timeframe. He was presiding over the District Monitoring and Review Committee (DLMRC) meeting. Repaswal instructed officials to prepare estimates and complete the necessary departmental formalities to ensure electricity supply in the affected centers within the set timeframe.
Additionally, he directed that a list be prepared showing the distance of rented Anganwadi centres from government primary schools.
The Deputy Commissioner also ordered the completion of repair and maintenance work by February 28. He also emphasised that new Anganwadi buildings should preferably be constructed near government primary schools.
Repaswal further instructed officials to expedite the recruitment process for all vacant positions of Anganwadi workers and assistants in the district.
Emphasising the importance of women’s safety, security and empowerment under Mission Shakti, he stressed the need to expand awareness activities under the ‘Samarthya’ and ‘Sambal’ sub-schemes. He also instructed officials to use social media platforms for the effective promotion and dissemination of awareness campaigns.
During the meeting, Repaswal conducted a detailed review of various schemes, including the Special Nutrition Programme, Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, One Stop Centre Chamba, and the District Child Protection Unit, issuing necessary directives to concerned officers.
