Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Sunday said the apple season had begun in the state, and keeping that in view, he had directed all senior officials to ensure that roads and other essential services functioned smoothly during the monsoon season so that orchardists did not face any difficulty and their produce reached the markets on time.
He said this while addressing a gathering during his visit to Baghi in the Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai constituency for the consecration ceremony of newly built Kot Kali Mata Temple.
Speaking on the occasion, he said in today’s modern era, while it was essential to move forward with new technologies and scientific discoveries, it was equally important to stay connected to their cultural roots so that their great heritage remained alive.
He also interacted with devotees and members of the temple committee. He said the entire Himachal was known across the world as the ‘Land of Gods (‘Dev Bhoomi’), and rightly so, as every mountain, village and home there was believed to be the abode of deities. “These divine beings are closely connected with the daily lives of the people. It is due to these unique aspects that our rich culture holds a special place globally,” he said.
The minister extended his best wishes to the locals on the auspicious occasion and prayed to the goddess for the prosperity and progress of the region.
