Shimla, February 14
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while listing the achievements of his government, today said that despite financial constraints, the government had ensured all-round development of the state.
He said, “We have curbed corruption and disbanded the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC) at Hamirpur to put an end to irregularities in recruitment. Several decisions have been taken to ensure quality education for everyone by strengthening infrastructure in government schools. Several initiatives have bene taken to accomplish the target of making Himachal a green state by 2026.”
The BJP, on the other hand, hit out at the Congress regime for raising Rs 14,000 crore loan in its 14-month rule, thereby becoming the highest debt raising government in the history of Himachal.
Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, while interacting with mediapersons after the Governor’s address, said that the previous BJP government had ensured the development of the state despite financial constraints. “The Congress government is raising loan every month while we took loan after four to five months,” he added.
He said that the Congress government spent one year cursing the Prime Minister and him but after 14 months now, it had nothing much to list as achievements. “People want to know what the Sukhu government has done in its 14-year rule. No achievement was listed in the Governor’s address as the government has accomplished nothing substantial,” he added.
