EPFO: Register outsourced employees under EPF Act

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Shimla, today organised an awareness programme on PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana for the officers of central and state government departments as well as Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) during which departments were requested to register their outsourced employees under the EPF Act so that they can take advantage of the scheme.

During the event, Regional PF Commissioner Rakesh Kumar said government has approved the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana to support employment generation, enhance employability and social security across all sectors, with special focus on the manufacturing sector.

Elaborating on the scheme, he informed that the scheme aims to incentivise the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs in the country, over a period of two years. “Under this Scheme, first time employees registered with EPFO will get one-month EPF wages up to Rs 15,000 and the employer will also get the incentive up to Rs 3,000 per month for two years for each additional employee with sustained employment for at least six months. For the manufacturing sector, incentives will be extended to the third and fourth years as well,” he said.

“The benefits of the scheme will be applicable to jobs created between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2027,” he added. Kumar requested all the participants to take maximum advantage of the scheme. He also emphasised the need of UAN activation and bank account seeding to avail the benefits of the scheme.
