PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, who is the chairman of Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation, today said the statue of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be unveiled on June 23. The statue unveiling ceremony will be held at the Ridge ground in Shimla on the birth anniversary of the six-time Chief Minister.
The minister said the supporters of the late Chief Minister will be invited to the ceremony. Also, senior leaders from the All-India Congress Committee, and Governor, Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, MLAs, former MLAs and opposition leaders will also be invited. The Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation, a non-political organisation, aims to promote social welfare, youth development and public service, inspired by Virbhadra Singh’s legacy.
The foundation held its first general meeting in Shimla, chaired by Vikramaditya Singh, to discuss preparations for the statue unveiling ceremony. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for June 15 to finalise the event’s preparations, including the formation of various committees and arrangements for guests.
Singh said the event will be a tribute to the former Chief Minister’s vision and leadership, which will be remembered for generations to come.
