Former West Indies cricketer Richie Richardson and his wife Arlene celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary at McLeodganj on Friday evening.

The couple, who tied the knot in 1998, marked the occasion in an intimate gathering at a rooftop venue of a local hotel.

A special cake-cutting ceremony was organised, during which Arlene and Richardson jointly cut the cake and offered bites to each other, drawing warm applause from the guests. A live band performance added to the celebratory mood.

Richardson, popularly known as Sir Richie Richardson, is currently in Dharamsala as part of his duties as an ICC Match Referee. He is here for the upcoming T20 match between India and South Africa, scheduled for Sunday.

Born on January 12, 1962, the Antiguan cricket icon is revered for his stylish batting, calm leadership, and trademark wide-brimmed maroon hat.

Richardson represented the West Indies from the 1980s to the mid-1990s, scoring prolifically in both Tests and ODIs before transitioning to cricket administration.
