During his distinguished career, Bhandari held several key posts in the state police force, including DGP, CID and Additional DGP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. He retired from service in 2014. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri expressed deep grief over his demise. The CM said Bhandari served the state police with diligence and dedication and his outstanding services will be remembered by the force for years to come. He also prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.
