Ex-minister cremated with state honours in Dharamsala
Senior BJP leader from Himachal and former minister Kishan Kapoor was cremated with state honours at Khaniara, his ancestral village this afternoon. The state leadership of the BJP, including former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, state president of BJP Rajiv Bindal, local BJP MLAs Sudhir Sharma, Pawan Kajal, Vipin Singh Parmar and BJP MP from Kangra, Rajiv Bharadwaj paid last respects to Kishan Kapoor.
From government side Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Chander Kumar and deputy chief whip of Congress in Himachal Vidhan Sabha Kewal Singh Pathania paid respects to Kishan Kapoor.
Former BJP minister Ramesh Dhawala got emotional while paying last respects to Kishan Kapoor and wept while consoling the son of Kishan Kapoor, Shashwat Kapoor.
Kishan Kapoor breathed his last at the PGI, Chandigarh, yesterday morning at the age of 73 years. He had suffered a brain stoke about a fortnight ago and was undergoing treatment in the PGI, Chandigarh. His last remains were brought to Dharamsala last evening.
Kishan Kapoor was a five-time MLA from Dharamsala, remained a BJP MP from Kangra parliamentary constituency and was a minister in BJP governments from 1998 to 2003 and 2007 to 2012.
A large of number of locals from Dharamsala also paid their last respects to former minister.
