Shiv Singh Chauhan, a 93-year-old veteran public relations professional and a former Joint Director of the state’s Information and Public Relations Department, will be conferred by Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) with a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contribution to the field of public relations.

He will be honoured during the 46th All India Public Relations Conference (AIPRC) at Raipur in Chhattisgarh on December 20. Additionally, the Shimla Chapter of PRSI will also receive the Best Programme award for 2024.

This year, the chapter organised an election awareness campaign at UHF, Nauni, in Solan district for first timers and young voters to exercise their franchise.

The chapter also arranged a daylong workshop for journalism and PR students at Government Post Graduate Degree College, Solan. The chapter has bagged the Best Chapter award thrice — during 2009, 2010 and 2011.
