Una, June 30
Residents of Jhalera panchayat in the Kutlehar Assembly of the district today submitted a memorandum to DC Raghav Sharma, demanding the removal of the provisions of the Special Area Development Authority (SADA). The provisions have been imposed on the panchayat under the Town and Country Planning Act of the Urban Development Department.
Zila Parishad member Urmila Sharma said the panchayat was brought under the ambit of SADA in 1985, after which the residents had been facing harassment for construction and repair of their houses, and water and electricity connections. — OC
