The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) here yesterday hosted an exhibition to mark the conclusion of Hindi Pakhwada on the theme “The evolution of Brahmi to Devanagari Script”.

The exhibition that was inaugurated by Secretary, IIAS, Mehar Chand Negi, featured insights from Professor Om Prakash Sharma, a distinguished scholar of Tagore, who delivered an in-depth lecture on the historical development of the Devanagari script and its cultural significance. The exhibition was attended by various scholars, officials, and staff who appreciated the lecture’s relevance and depth.

During Hindi Pakhwada, the institute had also organised various competitions, including dictation, extempore speaking, essay writing, and poetry recitation. Results for these competitions were announced at the event, with participants such as Akhilesh Pathak, Kesar Singh, Devendra Singh, Abhishek Dalvi, Deepak Sharma, Bhupendra Kashyap, Gurjeet Kaur and Gopal Singh winning awards in different categories.
