Expect heavy rain in Himachal from September 12 to 14

Heavy rainfall is set to continue across state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in the state from September 12 to 14.

As per the department, a yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in isolated places has been issued for Una, Bilaspur and Kangra districts for September 12. A yellow alert for hevy rain along with thunderstorms has also been issued for Shimla, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts for September 13. Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for Kangra, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts for September 14.

At least 586 roads, including four National Highways (NHs), are still blocked in the state while around 571 power transformers are disrupted due to heavy rainfall.

As per the State Emergency Operation Centre, of the total 586 blocked roads, 216 roads, including the National Highway-3 and the National Highway-305, are blocked in Kullu, followed by Mandi (150), Shimla (58), Kangra (42), Sirmaur (28), Una (20), Bilaspur (10), Lahaul and Spiti (7), Kinnaur (3), including National Highway-05, and Hamirpur (3).
