He urged students to prioritise their physical and mental health through sports and physiotherapy while steering clear of harmful substances. He further noted that physiotherapy is not limited to injury recovery but is a vital part of healthcare for all age groups, aiding in post-surgical recovery, chronic illness management, and general wellness.

He also mentioned that both the Centre’s National Health Commission and the Himachal Pradesh Government are actively promoting physiotherapy services to improve public health.

Chancellor Er Suman Vikrant reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening healthcare education and services. He announced that the newly established physiotherapy OPD will offer free, high-quality physiotherapy services to students, faculty, and the local community.

The OPD will operate on business days from 10 am to 4 pm, providing treatment at no cost. “This initiative reflects the university’s dedication to societal well-being and public welfare,” he said.

In addition, APG Shimla University, in collaboration with IGMC Shimla, will organise a Free Health Camp on April 2. This camp will focus on orthopaedic care, general medical checkups, and eye examinations, providing expert consultation and medical advice to the public.
