The Department of Biotechnology, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, organised an engaging alumni talk session titled ‘Reach, Meet and Greet’, featuring Vimal Bhutani, an alumnus of the MSc Biotechnology batch (2010-12) and founder-director of Biotech Sapiens, Chandigarh. Bhutani delivered a talk on “Career Opportunities and Different Exams in Life Sciences,” guiding students on future career paths.

The session commenced with Prof Reena Gupta, Chairperson of the Department, introducing Bhutani and highlighting his achievements in the field of life sciences and biotechnology.

Bhutani shared valuable insights into career prospects, discussing crucial competitive exams such as CSIR-NET, GATE, ICMR-JRF, and DBT-JRF. He emphasised the importance of research, skill development, and strategic preparation for these exams.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
