Extend welfare scheme benefits to needy: Sarveen Chaudhary

Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary today said the aim of the government was to make the public welfare schemes accessible to the eligible people. Chaudhary said this while addressing a gathering after giving cheques to 11 Mahila Mandals in Ansui and Ambadi gram panchayats of the Shahpur Assembly.

Chaudhary said the state government was committed to uplifting the youth and the weaker sections, as well as ensuring prosperity of farmers and protection of women. She said the Khushal Kisan Yojana was a boon for the women in rural areas.

The minister said effective schemes had been launched to enable the participation of women in social activities. She said due to effective measures taken by the state government, the Covid-19 pandemic had been curbed to a large extent in the state.

Chaudhary said Rs 9.47 lakh was spent on the construction of roads, grounds and sheds in Ansui. She added that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Rs 1 crore was being spent on upgrading the road from Chadi to Jhikli Ansui and the work on the road was in progress. In addition, Rs 4.27 lakh would be spent on developmental works in Ansui, she said. — OC
