Dharamsala, October 16
Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, and Sports, campaigned for BJP candidate Baldev Thakur in the Fatehpur Assembly constituency today.
Anurag, while addressing public rallies, sought votes in the name of development-oriented performance of the BJP government in the state. He constantly reiterated that the BJP is in power in the state and it was better to vote for the party candidate. “Only one year is left for the next Assembly elections but Fatehpur is still bereft of development, as the constituency is represented by a Congress MLA. So, the voters should elect Baldev Thakur to ensure development in the constituency,” he said.
He said that the state government had introduced the scheme to provide one free LPG cylinder and a gas stove to the women of the state. Thousands of village women had benefited from the scheme and so the people should vote for the BJP for development works done by the state government in the past four years.
The Union minister also touched upon the issue of farmers that was haunting the BJP in the Fatehpur byelection. — TNS
