Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said fellowship and internship programmes would be started in government departments and public representative offices to increase the participation of the youth in the nation-building and development-planning process. He directed the Finance and Planning Department to draft and submit a plan within two months.
Reviewing Swarnim Himachal Drishti Patra-2017, Bhardwaj said the Gudiya Scheme had been implemented for the safety of women. “For this, 11 women police stations have been made functional in different districts and women police officers were investigating cases of crime against women,” said Bhardwaj.
“Women need not go to police stations for registering their complaints. They can register these through WhatsApp, Gudiya Helpline and online medium.”
The Gudiya Helpline and Shakti Button app have been launched to ensure the safety of women. Of the 4,035 complaints received from January 26, 2018, to June 24, 2020, through the Gudiya Helpline, 3,985 have been resolved, said the minister. During the last two-and-a-half years, 3,638 complaints received through Shakti Button App have also been resolved.
