Fest goes global with six international troupes
The International Mahashivratri Festival 2025 in Mandi, also known as ‘Chhoti Kashi’, witnessed an extraordinary transformation, with six international cultural troupes participating for the first time. Performers from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Fiji and Ukraine brought a global flair to the festival, making it the most diverse edition yet.
The festival featured multiple cultural evenings, where international artistes showcased their unique traditions and performances. The event’s highlight was the cultural parade, organised by the district administration, which captivated audiences with its vibrant display of international art forms. The parade was met with enthusiastic applause, as locals experienced diverse global cultures firsthand.
Unlike previous years, where only one or two international troupes were invited, the 2025 edition set a new benchmark in terms of foreign participation. The district administration and state government played a crucial role in raising the festival’s global stature, earning praise for their efforts in hosting international performers.
