Shimla, July 21
The Himachal Pradesh branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has urged all taxpayers to file their income tax returns (ITR) for the Assessment Year 2024-25 in a timely manner and avoid the last-minute rush.
Chairman of the state branch of the ICAI Naresh Vashisht said some so-called professionals were filing returns on behalf of taxpayers, claiming illegal deductions to secure larger refunds. He said the taxpayers need to be cautious of those promising higher refunds, as the department is aware of every taxpayer’s transactions.
