Following days of red and orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains, the department has issued yellow alert for light rain in some districts over the next two days. Thereafter, there is no alert until September 10, indicating that the worst spell of precipitation is over.

However, 1200 roads and 1800 power distribution transformers are disrupted. With no heavy rain likely over the next few days, there will be a big thrust to restore roads and distribution transformers.
