Nahan, February 6

The head of a department (HoD) of a private dental college at Paonta Sahib, who had penalised more than 85 students for attending local programmes related to the consecration ceremony of Lord Ramlala, has submitted a written apology to the college management.

About two weeks ago, the private dental and pharmacy college had imposed a penalty on the students for participating in local programmes organised on the occasion of consecration of Lord Ramlala in Ayodhya. After facing stiff opposition from some organisations and on the intervention of the local administration, it was decided to waive the fine and send the HOD on leave till February 5 while an internal inquiry was ordered. The college management waived the fine and initiated an inquiry.
