Five students were injured in a head-on collision between a private school bus and a Prem Bus Services vehicle near Bhattoo village, about 10 km from Palampur, this afternoon. The accident triggered panic among parents, many of whom rushed to the scene after hearing the news. School staff present at the spot quickly assured them about the children’s safety.

The incident occurred on the narrow and accident-prone Pathankot-Mandi highway stretch between Palampur and Paror, which locals say has become a death trap due to increasing traffic and poor road conditions. Accidents are reportedly frequent, with mishaps occurring nearly every third day.

The Bhawarna police have registered a case against the bus driver. However, no arrests have been made yet as the investigation is still ongoing.
