Five students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Theog, about 30 km from Shimla, have been suspended for 15 days for allegedly beating up their juniors. According to information, the Class XII students allegedly beat up some Class X students on the night of July 13.

While the reason behind the assault was not clear, some parents claimed that the incident took place after the juniors refused to wash the clothes of the senior students.

Following the incident, the local administration held a meeting between the parents concerned and the matter was resolved. To send out a strong message to the students to refrain from such behaviour in future, the guilty students were suspended.
