The Manali-Leh highway, which was blocked since Thursday morning due to a flash flood at Palchan under Manali subdivision of Kullu district, was restored to traffic movement in the evening.
A flash flood had hit Anjani Mahadev area of Manali sub-division in Kullu district causing significant damage to a house.
No loss of life was reported in the incident. However, the aftermath of the flood led to debris accumulation on the Palchan bridge, affecting traffic movement on the vital Manali-Leh highway.
The sudden flood inundated the area, damaging infrastructure and disrupting normal life briefly.
Local authorities promptly responded to the situation, initiating efforts to clear the debris and restore connectivity on the crucial highway.
Flash floods are not uncommon in the region during the monsoon season, characterised by intense rain and rapid water flow from mountainous terrain.
Locals and travellers are advised by the Manali administration to exercise caution and stay updated with official announcements as the situation develops.
