The initiative formed part of a special publicity campaign launched by the Department of Information and Public Relations to spread awareness about various welfare schemes. These schemes are aimed at the upliftment of women, children, persons with disabilities, senior citizens and members of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and minority communities, ensuring them equal opportunities in society.

The programme combined entertainment with awareness. While traditional songs and music engaged the audience, a street play conveyed detailed information about government initiatives such as the Him Ganga scheme, Social Security Pension and Dr YS Parmar Student Loan scheme.
