The youths, Safi Mohhamed and Pankaj Kumar, are residents of Baddi. Sanjay Pandit, District Attorney, said that a police team headed by Inspector Mohinder Singh of the Special Investigation Unit had received information on March 7, 2022 that the duo was selling intoxicating tablets in a utility vehicle near a cow shelter at Bhud barrier.

As many as 6,000 Lomotil tablets were seized during the search of the vehicle. The tablets contained diphenoxylate salt which falls under the NDPS Act and have a sedative impact. Lomotil is used for acute diarrhoea but is often misused as a sedative.
