At Chauras village in the Renukaji constituency, Thakur interacted with families who have been forced to abandon their homes as the area faces sinking threats following torrential rainfall. He expressed grief over the tragic death of Sheela Devi, a local resident who lost her life in a landslide, and offered condolences to her family. Thakur assured villagers that their problems would be strongly raised and every possible help extended.

During his visit to Haripurdhar, Thakur joined locals in listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme. In which the Prime Minister appealed to citizens to purchase khadi on Gandhi Jayanti and support indigenous products under the “Vocal for Local” campaign. Echoing this message, Thakur called upon Himachal residents to adopt Swadeshi and strengthen the vision of a self-reliant India.

The former Chief Minister also addressed seminars on Next Generation GST reforms at Nohradhar in Renukaji and Rajgarh in Pachhad. He described the reforms as the biggest gift to citizens by any government, highlighting their significance in strengthening the economy.

The visit further saw a political shift as several Congress workers from Renukaji joined the BJP. Thakur welcomed them into the party, noting that they were motivated by the pro-people policies of the BJP and Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He said their decision reflected growing disillusionment with Congress and renewed faith in the BJP’s welfare-oriented approach.
