Addressing mediapersons here today, Thakur said, “The Budget reflects the government’s deep commitment to welfare of farmers, youth and grassroots workers. It is a people-first Budget that prioritises sustainable agriculture, employment and support to government employees and rural workers like Anganwadi, ASHA workers and panchayat chowkidars.”

Thakur, especially lauded the introduction of minimum support price (MSP) for natural farming crops such as wheat, maize and turmeric, describing it as a visionary move that would boost farmers’ income and promote environmental sustainability. He also welcomed the hike in milk procurement prices, terming it beneficial for animal husbandry and cattle farmers.

Highlighting the government’s employment drive, Thakur said over 25,000 youth had been given jobs in the past two years, with the new Budget promising further employment creation in both public and private sectors.

Taking a dig at the Opposition, he criticised Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur for focusing on “petty issues” instead of meaningful debate. “The people of Himachal can clearly see who is serious about governance,” he said.
