Former panchayat pradhan accused of fund misuse
UNA, SEPTEMBER 7
Bangana Block Development Officer Yash Pal has filed a police complaint against a former pradhan, panchayat secretary and two employees, alleging irregularities in MNREGA funds.
The BDO had conducted an inquiry on the basis of complaints submitted by villagers to Rural Development Minister Virender Kanwar.
As per the BDO’s complaint, Rs 65,165 was sanctioned under MGNREGA during 2017-18 for the construction of a water tank. It was later found that the size of the tank and the quality of material used did not match the entries made in the book.
He said a criminal case should be registered against then panchayat pradhan Kamlesh Kumari, secretary Malik Deen, technical assistant Dharam Pal and gram rozgar sewak Arvind Kumar. — OC
