The Foundation Day of Nagaland and Assam was celebrated at Raj Bhawan today, where Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla interacted with the people from these states residing in Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity. He emphasised that exposure to the cultures, traditions and practices of different states helps to enhance understanding and bonding among them. Such interactions, he added, strengthen the country’s unity and integrity in line with the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”. Governor’s wife Janaki Shukla was also present on the occasion.

The Governor observed that events like these not only foster mutual relations but also provide an opportunity to appreciate India’s vibrant cultural heritage. He stressed that such efforts are vital for promoting cultural harmony, mutual understanding and trust among states. On the occasion, the Governor honoured the participants by presenting them with Himachali caps and shawls.
