Four Punjab gangsters arrested from McLeodganj
Four associates of Harpreet Happo gang of Punjab have been apprehended by a team of Police Station, McLeodganj. These criminals were wanted in a murder case registered at Kharar Police Station, SAS Nagar, Punjab. A case was registered on February 1.
SSP Kangra, Shallini Agnihotri said that the arrested criminals were involved in murder of Gurpreet Singh, a gym trainer at Kharar. The vehicle used in the crime and to escape from the scene of the crime was also found in Dharamsala. These criminals were on the run after committing the crime. On secret information from Punjab Police, they were apprehended by Kangra police in McLeodganj. Two country made pistols, 10 live rounds and two magazines have been seized from them. They have been taken into custody by Anti-Gangster Task Force of Police. Further investigation is in progress.
Preliminary investigation revealed they were tasked to do target killing in Punjab by their foreign-based gang leaders. Local links and connections, if any in Kangra district, are being looked into, the SSP said.
She said that efforts of Kangra police to ensure seizure of country made illegal weapons and prevention of heinous crimes continue to yield results. “We are committed to keep the district safe and secure,” she said.
