Fresh snowfall in Churdhar, other peaks of Sirmaur district

The Churdhar peak, the highest point in Sirmaur district situated at 11,965 feet, and other high-altitude areas in the district received their third significant snowfall of the season on Friday late at night, bringing relief and stunning scenery to the region. With six inches of fresh snowfall today, total snow accumulation in Churdhar is around 6 foot now.

In the higher reaches of Sirmaur district, the minimum temperature was -4°C and the maximum 6°C today. The minimum temperature in district headquarters, Nahan, was 10°C and the maximum 16°C. Along with this, the minimum temperature in the industrial areas of Kala Amb and Paonta Sahib was recorded at 11°C and the maximum 18°C.

While the snowfall disrupted daily life for some causing road closures and power outages in certain areas, it was met with joy by many residents, particularly farmers and apple growers.
