Himachal Pradesh is set to receive fresh snowfall and rainfall on January 11 and 12 as a result of a fresh Western Disturbance that is very likely to affect northwest India from January 10 onwards.
As per the state’s Meteorological Department, light snowfall and rainfall is likely to occur at a few places of higher and middle hills while light rainfall is likely to occur in lower hills and plains of the state. Light snowfall and rainfall will continue to occur in the isolated areas of high and middle hills while weather will remain clear in lower hills and plains. The weather across the state will remain dry from January 13 onwards. Additionally, minimum temperatures are also expected to fall by 2°C to 3°C in many parts of the state during the next 48 hours.
The department has also issued a yellow warning of cold wave, dense fog and ground frost at isolated places in Mandi, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts till January 10.
Meanwhile, light to moderate snowfall and rainfall occurred at isolated places of the state during the past 24 hours while weather was mostly dry across the state.
Shimla, the state’s capital, recorded 14°C maximum temperature, while Dharamsala, the winter capital of the state, recorded 22°C maximum temperature. Manali recorded 12.5°C maximum temperature, Mandi 20.6°C, Dalhousie 12.3°C, Hamirpur 20.2°C, Bilaspur 21°C, Sundernagar 21.5°C, Bhuntar 17.6°C, Reckong Peo 11.7°C, Kasauli 15°C, Nahan 19.9°C, Kufri 9.7°C and Narkanda 5.8°C.
With 23.4°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest as it recorded minus 8.7°C minimum temperature.
