Rajan Kumar, a differently-abled cricket enthusiast, will be honoured with the national-level “Excellence Award of India 2025” in recognition of his outstanding social service and in recognition of his outstanding social service and continuous efforts in advocating for the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities. The award ceremony will be held tomorrow in Palampur, Kangra district.
A resident of Bhegetu village near here, Rajan Kumar serves as the Director of the Himachal Pradesh Wheelchair Cricket Team and is a member of the District Disability Review Committee.
The award is constituted by Versatile Jaggz Entertainment Private Limited, an Indian firm with international expansions. The ceremony will be held at Gauravika Palace City, Palampur, where the award will be presented by Bollywood star Dishant Gulliya and renowned Punjabi singer Abraam. The event’s brand ambassador, Sonali Sharma, will be the main attraction. The event is organised by Jaggi Aulakh and his team.
Expressing his gratitude, Rajan Kumar said, “This award is not merely a personal achievement, but a collective victory of all resilient and inspiring differently-abled individuals. It will further strengthen my commitment to social service.”
On behalf of the Himachal Pradesh Wheelchair Cricket Team, Rajan Kumar also extended heartfelt thanks to Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh for sanctioning Rs 3 lakh to the team for procuring wheelchairs. He added, “These are not just wheelchairs, but wings that will give new flight to the dreams of our players. This support will significantly boost their confidence and morale, enabling the team to perform even better and with greater strength on the field.”
