From hills to national stage: Triumph FC to represent Himachal in AIFF Futsal event

In a landmark achievement for Himachal Pradesh’s sporting history, Triumph Football Club Himachal has become the first-ever club from the state to qualify for the prestigious AIFF Hero Futsal National Club Championship 2025. The tournament, organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), will take place from August 3 to August 18 in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, featuring 17 elite futsal teams from across the country.

A spokesperson for the club described the milestone as a turning point for Himachal’s footballing ecosystem, signalling the state’s growing presence in the national futsal arena.

Triumph FC has been placed in a highly competitive group and will begin their campaign against Reallona FC (Ladakh) on August 3, followed by matches against Minerva Academy FC (August 5), Afuyemi FC (August 9) and Juggernaut FC (August 11).

To prepare for the championship, the club organised a 10-day high-performance training camp from July 18 to 27, focusing on modern futsal strategies, speed endurance, finishing techniques and physical conditioning. The sessions were led by Head Coach Dharampal Singh and Fitness Coach Sunil, with structured routines aimed at building competitive readiness.

The club’s 20-member delegation includes 17 players and three support staff, among whom Mukul Katoch, Ritik Sharma, Kartik Sharma, Tenzin Loden and Rohitdeep Singh Jasrotia are considered key players. The support team includes Assistant Coach Dr Rishabh Sharma, Team Manager Kartik and Physiotherapist Dr Gurwant Singh.

Club president Sushant Sharma expressed heartfelt gratitude to the AIFF, Himachal Pradesh Football Association, Football Association Dharamsala, and the club’s sponsors.

“Our dream is not just to win matches, but to elevate Himachal’s youth to national and even international platforms. This tournament could open doors to the Asian Football Confederation Futsal Championship and we aspire to see our players reach that level,” he said.
