Nahan, August 6
The Nahan police have successfully apprehended a mobile snatching gang at Kala Amb. The police recovered 57 mobile phones of various brands from the accused. Three persons have been arrested who were involved in a series of mobile thefts, targeting homes, shops, and passersby under the cover of darkness.
The investigation began after a mobile snatching incident involving a youth from Naraingarh, Haryana, was reported. The incident occurred on the night of August 2, around 9 pm, when one, Kapil Kamboj, was walking back to his home in Kala Amb. Three youths on a motorcycle approached him from the Trilokpur side, snatched his mobile phone and fled. Kapil informed the police that he would be able to recognise the three culprits.
The accused were identified as Malkit Singh, Sagar and Suraj, all residents of Durga Colony, Kala Amb. Further investigation revealed that the trio was also involved in another incident on August 1, where they allegedly snatched a mobile phone and a receipt machine from an employee at a toll barrier.
