People are throwing garbage in the rivulet near Skodi Bridge in Mandi town. This not only pollutes the water bodies but also depicts an ugly picture of the town. The offenders should be penalised and the local civic body should also make efforts to clear the area around the rivulet and mark designated places to dispose of the garbage. — Rajesh Kumar, Mandi

The Zamanabad Road, outside the multi – crore park constructed at Mata Ka Baagh on the outskirts of Kangra town, is in a poor condition for the past few years. The Public Works Department (PWD) authorities have been mute spectators towards the problems faced by the residents. They have complained with the offices of Executive Engineer, PWD, and SDO, PWD, but to no avail. The road connects Kangra town with Zamanabad, Abdullahpur, Sameerpur and Tiara. It is a busy road and must be repaired soon to avoid any fatal mishap. — Partap Singh, Auto Workshop owner
