A two-day event ‘Vishwa Dharohar Utsav’, which was organised to celebrate the ninth anniversary of the day when Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) got the status of world heritage site (WHS) from the UNESCO, concluded at Sai Ropa in Banjar today.

GHNP Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nishant Mandhotra said during the event, academic conferences, cultural events and lectures by several experts were held. He said exhibitions, in which products made by local artisans were sold, were also set up. He added that a food festival was also held. He said that deliberate discussions were held on wildlife conservation and management, ecotourism, community involvement, rescue and release of wild animals, institutional capacity building in wild life and such other related subjects.

The DFO said an online quiz that started on June 20 and concluded on June 22 was organised. He added that painting, slogan-writing and marathon competitions were also held. He said that winners of various events were awarded today.
