Government mulls building 300-acre industrial belt in Nalagarh

The Himachal Government is mulling a 300-acre industrial belt at Gheer in Nalagarh to give thrust to the state’s economy and generate employment.

A high-level meeting of the Cabinet sub-committee, constituted to formulate a strategic framework for the gainful utilisation of a 300 acres in the Gheer Industrial Area, was held under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan here today. After detailed discussions, the committee decided that the final cost benefit analysis would be done before taking any decision.

The Industries Minister emphasised the state government’s commitment to accelerating industrial growth and creating employment opportunities for the youth. The committee conducted a detailed review of various development models and the associated financial and operational modalities.

The development of 300 acres will have modern infrastructure, including reliable power supply, efficient water management systems and high-speed connectivity to facilitate a seamless setup for industries.

Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) RD Nazeem presented a comprehensive overview of the viable options available for the project. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma and senior officers attended the meeting.
