Say donations will be used to provide assistance and relief to dependents of those who laid down their lives for the nation’s sovereignty and integrity, as well as to ex-servicemen and their families
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today appealed to citizens to donate generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Brig Madan Sheel Sharma, Director of the Sainik Welfare Department, pinned the armed forces flag on both leaders.
Sukhu, who also contributed to the fund, urged people to support the welfare of serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families.
Extending his greetings on the occasion, Governor Shukla said, “The brave soldiers of the state are the pride of the armed forces, making it all the more important for citizens to contribute generously.” He said the donations collected would be used to provide assistance and relief to the dependents of those who had laid down their lives for the nation’s sovereignty and integrity, as well as to ex-servicemen and their families.
