Hundreds of people, including children, and senior citizens participated in the 11th HP Police Half Marathon-2024.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla flagged off the marathon, organised to spread awareness against drug abuse, from the historic Ridge.

The Governor said the enthusiasm shown by every section of society against drug menace was commendable.

“The people participated in half marathon to end drug nuisance,” he said.

He said the Himachal Pradesh Police had taken a step towards creating drug-free state.

“If every section of society is part of such awareness campaign, only then we can wipe out drugs from the state,” said the Governor.

The Governor also administered an oath to the participants to stay away from drugs.

Shukla said everyone had the right to raise their voice but no one had the right to defy law and order.
