Governor Bandaru Dattatraya honoured doctors, nurses and safai karamcharis at Raj Bhavan on World Health Day today while following social distance.
On this occasion, the Governor said that ‘World Health Day’ was celebrated every year on April 7 to spread awareness for maintaining good health and a balanced lifestyle. He said that the day was dedicated to honour the indefatigable work of nurses and midwives across the globe. He added that the whole world was fighting corona virus pandemic, which increases the importance of this Day.
In the wake of the corona virus pandemic, millions of doctors, nurses, medical staff and healthcare workers were leaving behind their comfort and safety to fight Covid-19 crisis and help those infected or suspected of corona virus. “We should salute their spirit and give them full respect”, said the Governor.
Director Health and Family Welfare Dr Ajay Kumar Gupta, Medical Superintendent, IGMC Dr Janak Raj, Associate Professor, IGMC Dr Vimal Bharti, Staff Nurses Manju, Meena Thakur and Kavita, Ward girl Naseema, Security personnel Naresh Kumar and Ramesh Kumar and Safai karamchari Suresh were honoured by the Governor on the occasion.
ACS Health R D Dhiman, Secretary to Governor Rakesh Kanwar and other officials of Raj Bhavan were also present on the occasion.
