Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, also the President of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society, inaugurated a two-day free acupuncture medical camp at the State Red Cross Bhavan on Monday. The camp, organised by the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Section in collaboration with the All India Acupuncture Foundation, New Delhi, aims to provide natural healing treatments to the public. State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section chairperson Janaki Shukla was also present at the event.
During his speech, the Governor highlighted the active role of State Red Cross in health awareness initiatives. He recalled that a similar acupuncture camp was held last year, which benefitted a large number of people. Given its positive outcomes, the camp was being organised again this year with renowned acupuncture specialist Dr Sunil Kumar offering his services.
The Governor praised acupuncture as a natural and effective method for treating various ailments. The event was also attended by CP Verma, Secretary to the Governor and General Secretary of the State Red Cross, along with life-time members of the State Red Cross.
