While interacting with students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Vikas Nagar, Shimla, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar advised them to read books related to freedom fighters of the nation. The Governor came to the school as part of his ‘Interaction with Students’ programme and conducted a class as a teacher. He asked them questions regarding their time spent during vacation, their responsibility towards the environment and their interest in plantation, reading newspapers, etc. He said books were one’s asset and heritage. He gifted books to every student and asked them to give their feedback by sending him letters.
SFI to guide new students
The SFI will set up help desks in every college of Shimla to help new students seeking admission in the colleges. The SFI has appealed to all new students to approach the help desks in case they need any assistance. The SFI said the initiative was to save students from facing unnecessary harassment while filling up forms in cyber cafes.
Report sought on cyber awareness
The Education Directorate has sought action taken report on conducting a ‘Cyber Awareness Drive’ from principals of all colleges in the state. The Cyber Awareness Day is observed in educational institutions on the first Wednesday of every month.
