Govt fulfilled five promises despite financial crisis: Negi

The state government has fulfilled five of the 10 guarantees the Congress had given to people before the 2022 Assembly elections though the previous BJP government had left the state in a financial crisis, said Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani while addressing mediapersons at Bilaspur today.

Negi said that the Congress government would complete two years in office on December 11 and it had successfully worked for the development of the state and welfare of people. He added that the Congress had formed government to make the state prosperous and self-reliant by 2027.

He said that serious steps were taken to stop wasteful expenditure. He added that the most important demand of the employees related to the restoration of the old pension scheme was fulfilled immediately after the Congress assumed power in the state, providing relief to over 1.36 lakh employees.

Negi said that the government had released 11 per cent DA and increased the diet money of police personnel to Rs 1,000 per month. He added that Rs 680 crore was also released as part of the first phase of the start-up fund while the scheme for a 50 per cent subsidy on the purchase of e-taxis was started. He claimed that 36,000 farmers had taken up natural farming in the state.

Negi said that the government had adopted over 6,000 orphans as the children of the state and they would be provided with everything for their upbringing and education. He added that the government had signed an MoU of Rs 4,000 crore for a green hydrogen and ammonia project that would generate over 3,500 jobs for the youth. He claimed that over 225,734 revenue cases were solved in special revenue courts organised across the state.

Dharmani said that the government had prioritised the development of the tourism industry and started infrastructure development, which included hotels, resorts, heli-taxis, transport etc. He added that the government had initiated tourism development from Bilaspur by launching water sports activities.

He said tourists were getting facilities like cruiz, shikara, jet skies, water scooters and motorboats at Bilaspur. He added such ventures would generate jobs for people and improve their economy as well. Former minister Ram Lal Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq and other officers of the police and the district administration were also present.
