Himachal Govt giving priority to education: MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal

MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal while addressing students at Government High School, Chakmoh in Barsar constituency, said sports help in the overall development of students and are equally important with academics. He was at the inauguration of a gym at the school, set up at cost of Rs 5 lakh, near here today.

He said the gym would help in physical and mental development of the students. He said under the Chief Minister Khel Protsahan Yojna, the government was providing funding to establish such facility in every school of the state. Lakhanpal said the Chief Minister had prioritised education in the state and had started to establish one model school that would have day boarding facility in each constituency of the state. He said that the land for construction of a day boarding school in Barsar constituency had been identified and soon construction would start.
