The terrorist attack in Pahalgam was heinous and shocking, said Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur while addressing a gathering at a protest rally at the Gandhi Chowk here today. He added that the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give a befitting reply to the conspirators of the terrorist attack orchestrated by the Pakistan intelligence agency that led to the killing of 26 innocent people.

The Central Government had already started diplomatic action against Pakistan.

Anurag said that the Himachal Government should identify Pakistani nationals in the state and send them back to their country. He alleged that it was unfortunate that the state government had turned hostile in the matter and was protecting Pakistani nationals, as was being done in other Congress-ruled states.

He said that the extradition of Pakistani nationals was the need of the hour and the state government need to be more vigilant and proactive in this regard. He questioned, “why Congress leaders are supporting Pakistan and what is their stand on terrorism.”

On the Sanjauli mosque case, Anurag said that the court of the Shimla Municipal Commissioner had clearly said that the entire mosque was illegally constructed and every part of it must be demolished. He added that the members of the Himachal Waqf Board were not accepting the court verdict.

Later, BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to the Governor, through the Deputy Commissioner, for sending Pakistani nationals back to their country.
