Addressing mediapersons at Bilaspur on Wednesday, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Sandeep Sankhyan said the state government was serving people of the state in all kinds of disasters — natural disasters or “political disaster backed by BJP leaders”.

The two years that the Congress government had been in power in the state had been outstanding, and the BJP had nothing to speak against the government, he added. He said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had envisioned to make the state self-reliant in the five years, which had given sleepless nights to opposition leaders.

Sankhyan said the CM had honoured Bilaspur with an announcement to celebrate a function marking the completion of two years of the government’s tenure, and this had added to the woes of BJP leaders.

A function at Bilaspur would send a loud and clear message to the BJP national executive as BJP national president JP Nadda was from the district, he added.

He said the function would compare the five years of BJP governance with two years of the Congress rule.

Former MLA Tilak Raj Sharma and Congress leaders Meera Bhogal, Nirmala Rajput, Meera Sharma, Abhishek, Hemraj and LR Sen were among those present at the event.
