Govt taking steps to strengthen healthcare in Jubbal: Minister

The state government is taking several important steps to strengthen healthcare services in Jubbal, said Education Minister Rohit Thakur here yesterday. He chaired a meeting with the members of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Jubbal, at Khadapathar in Shimla district to review the ongoing activities at the Civil Hospital, Jubbal.

The minister said that various specialist doctors were at present providing their services in Jubbal, benefiting local residents. He added that he was continuously working towards improving the overall condition of the Civil Hospital. He also directed hospital officials and other staff to use funds earned by the Rogi Kalyan Samiti in a balanced and judicious manner.

The minister approved the purchase of new ECG and RVG machines for the hospital. He directed the hospital authorities to get an X-ray machine repaired, give special attention to ensuring comfort of patients during the winter and make adequate arrangements of electric heaters, blankets etc.

He also directed the officials to keep tanks clean and safe so that patients as well as their attendants get clean drinking water. Besides, the minister also met various delegations of the panchayats of Jubbal and Kotkhai and held discussions regarding various issues. He also held a meeting with senior officials of the Public Works Department and directed them to prioritise the reconstruction and repair of roads and buildings that were damaged due to natural disasters during the monsoon season so that people do not face inconvenience during the winter.

Block Medical Officer Dr Sunish Chauhan presented the details of income and expenditure of 2024-25 and 2025-26. He also highlighted the proposed plan for the coming period. Besides, discussions were held on improving the condition of essential medical equipment and machines and increasing their number to provide better facilities to patients.
